BECAUSE:
1) God commanded us to Worship Him (Exodus 20:8–11)
2) God tells you to“Not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some.” (Hebrews 10:25a). “But encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” (Hebrews 10:25b) “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.” (Proverbs 27:17)
3) The Sacrament helps us remember Jesus” and to celebrate the Lord ’s Supper (1 Corinthians 11:24). Keeping this commandment weekly at church helps us remember what Jesus has done for us and commit to follow Him. “So we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.” (Romans 12:5) “Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.” And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.” (Matthew 26:26-28)
4) God’s Church relies on you and needs you (see Ephesians 4:16). Participating in church and offering your time and talents will improve and strengthen both you and the people around you. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love. (Ephesians 4:15-16)
5) So you won’t be hardened by sin “Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin” (Hebrews 3:12-13)
6) To hear God’s powerful Word preached “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12)
7) God can speak to you. You can find answers at church. Maybe you’re struggling with a specific question or need some direction in your life. Maybe you just need to feel God’s love and know that He is there. As you listen to sermons and study God’s teachings, you will have opportunities to receive insight from God. He wants to communicate with you, and church is a good place to hear His voice in your heart and mind.
8) To exercise your spiritual gifts to serve others and also to be used by God for good. “Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them.” (Romans 12:6a) “To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good” (1 Corinthians 12:7) To show love and for good works- “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works.” (Hebrews 10:24)
9) To partner in the gospel “Because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.” (Philippians 1:5)
10) To mentor others and be mentored and to care for one another .Older men are to be sober-minded, dignified, self-controlled, sound in faith, in love, and in steadfastness. Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled. Likewise, urge the younger men to be self-controlled. (Titus 2:2-6) “That there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another.” (1 Corinthians 12:25).
11) To train up your child “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)
12) To love one another. “So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith” (Galatians 6:10)
13) Church services teach and uplift
14) To improve our spirituality, and live better lives. You can be uplifted by fellow believers and by the opportunity to serve and worship. You can also feel the Holy Spirit who brings “love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, [and] faith” (Galatians 5:22).
15) To share love between brethren “By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:35)
16) To bear one another’s burdens “Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” (Galatians Then you need to actually be in relationships with other believers in the church.
17) To to celebrate baptism and fulfill the great commission. In the great commission in Matthew 28:19-20 Jesus says,“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.”
18) To suffer together “If one member suffers, all suffer together.” (1 Corinthians 12:16a) . Suffering For Christ together is a blessing. But to suffer alone multiplies the misery.
19) To rejoice together. “If one member is honored, all rejoice together.” (1 Corinthians 12:16b)
20) Church is a community where we can socialize and support each other. You can make friends, feel a sense of belonging, and build a support network that you can rely on. The church community helps us to “mourn with those that mourn; yea, and comfort those that stand in need of comfort” (Mosiah 18:9).
21) Because every part of the body is indispensable: The eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you,” nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” On the contrary, the parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable. (1 Corinthians 12:21-22).
22) To remind one another of what we were created for: “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10)
23) Go to church to live out the reality of who you are as a group, a family , your identity, adopted to God “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation.” (1 Peter 2:9a)
24) Go to church to proclaim his excellences better (1 Peter 2:9 says, “A people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellences of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.”
25) To remember who you belong to don’t isolate yourself. “Once you were not a people, but now you are God's people.” (1 Peter 2:10a)
26) To get equipped especially for ministry. “And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.” (Ephesians 4:11-12)
27) To church because we are going to live in glorious unity with God and each other for all eternity. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. (Revelation
